The Pentagon’s latest package includes 1,100 Phoenix Ghost tactical drones, 40 armored Riverine boats, communications and surveillance systems, as well as related training, maintenance, and sustainment services. The USAI procures capabilities from industry paired with the Presidential Drawdown Authority, which obtains packages from the US Department of Defense’s military stocks. The US will fund half of the T-72 donation as part of a $400 million Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), the Pentagon announced on November 4. Some of the tanks will be delivered before the end of 2022, with a completion date scheduled for 2023. ![]() Once shipped, the T-72Bs will be deployed by the Ukrainian armed forces with T-72s donated by other allies. The total value of the modernization will be $90 million.
